Ozone impressively disinfects bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. Undesirable inorganic substances such as iron, manganese, arsenic, nitrite and sulphite are oxidised.

As a highly reactive gas, ozone is generated on site from oxygen, and introduced to the water directly, without interim storage. Because of its high reactivity, ozone decomposes back into oxygen in the water, with a half life of several minutes.
